Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club Sets Sights on Big Future in Landmark 5th Year
Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club is marking its fifth anniversary with a bold statement of intent—laying out exciting plans to grow, compete, and lead the futsal scene across the South Coast. With momentum building across all levels of the club, the next chapter promises progression, opportunity, and ambition like never before.
Men’s Team: Eyes on Tier 2 South
The Men’s Team is gearing up for a major push, with promotion from Tier 3 to Tier 2 South firmly in its sights. After seasons of steady development, the squad is now ready to step up, raise standards, and test themselves against stronger competition. The message is clear—this is a team hungry to compete, improve, and make its mark at the next level.
Youth Pathway: Progression in Action
As the season draws to a close, the club is preparing for its annual youth transitions—an essential part of its player development model. Young players will step into new age groups, with U10s pushing into U11/U12s, U12s progressing into U13/U14 group & U14s progressing into U15/U16s final youth group, ensuring they are constantly challenged and supported. This structured pathway continues to be a key strength, helping players build confidence, adapt, and thrive as they develop through the ranks giving them an opportunity to develop into senior level from a clear youth pathway.
Grassroots Growth: Expanding the Game Locally
The club is doubling down on its commitment to grassroots futsal, with plans to deliver more fixtures, more tournaments, and more opportunities for players to get involved. By expanding the youth programme and increasing accessibility, Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club aims to strengthen the local futsal network and inspire the next generation of players across the city.
Female Pathway: Building for the Future
A major focus moving forward is the development of a dedicated female pathway. Starting at youth level, the club is working towards creating a clear and sustainable route into a future senior women’s team. This initiative reflects a commitment to inclusivity and long-term growth, ensuring more players have the chance to experience and excel in futsal.
Beach Soccer: A New Summer Dimension
Following a successful appearance in the Isle of Wight Beach Soccer Super Cup 2025, the club is set to expand its beach soccer programme. Both youth and senior players will have the chance to compete during the summer months, adding a fresh and exciting dimension to the club’s offering while keeping players active all year round.
Driven by Vision, Powered by Community
Founder and Programme Co-Ordinator Azza Shakib, and the PSFC coaching team continues to lead from the front, pushing the club to new heights. His vision is clear—to establish Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club as one of the South Coast’s leading futsal powerhouses within the next two years, built on strong foundations and long-term player development.
But this journey is bigger than the club alone. With continued support from the city, parents, and players, the movement continues to grow—creating more opportunities, developing local talent, and putting Portsmouth firmly on the futsal map.
