Pompey Dons Battle Past Dorset in First Home Game of the Season

Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club secured another important three points in the National Futsal League after overcoming Dorset Futsal 7-4 in their first home fixture of the 2026/27 season.

The contest proved to be a frustrating and testing afternoon for the Pompey Dons, with Dorset making the game difficult throughout and preventing the hosts from finding their rhythm consistently.

Despite that, Portsmouth & Southsea showed patience and resilience to keep pushing forward, taking a 5-3 lead into half time after an entertaining opening period.

The second half became a much more controlled performance from the hosts. As the game progressed, Portsmouth & Southsea began to look increasingly comfortable defensively, managing Dorset’s attacking threat more effectively and limiting the opportunities available to the visitors.

The Pompey Dons continued to persevere despite periods of frustration, gradually edging themselves further into control as the match approached its closing stages.

Goals from Josh Harvey-Gray and Cristiano Vasconcelos, who both struck twice, helped provide the attacking platform for the victory.

Yahya Karimi, Huxley Marshall and captain Aaron Tasker also found the net as Portsmouth & Southsea eventually secured a hard-fought 7-4 victory.

It was a performance built on patience, persistence and an ability to adapt as the game developed. While there were difficult moments, the Pompey Dons became stronger as the contest progressed and showed greater defensive composure during the latter stages.

Josh Harvey-Gray was named Man of the Match after an impressive display, scoring twice and playing an influential role throughout the game.

The victory makes it another positive result for Portsmouth & Southsea as the club continues its start to the 2026/27 National Futsal League campaign.
