Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club Men’s Head Coach Connor Maison has praised the attitude, togetherness and development of his squad as the season continues to gather momentum.
Now in his third season in charge, Connor has remained committed to a clear philosophy — giving young, homegrown players genuine opportunities within the senior environment. The club’s pathway continues to strengthen, with youth prospects regularly training and competing alongside experienced players as part of the long-term vision to grow the sport locally and sustainably.
Speaking about the group’s progress, Connor previously said:
“The commitment of this group has been something special. Taking a completely new set of players from different ages, different backgrounds and building the foundations of a real team together has been incredibly rewarding. These guys surprise me every single week, and that hunger to keep growing makes me excited for what's ahead as we continue to fine tune our game. We’re only a quarter of the way through this league. There’s so much more to come, and we’ll do everything in our power to be sitting at the top come Game Week 12.”
The blend of youth and experience has created strong competition within the squad while maintaining the club’s identity and culture. Younger players are gaining valuable senior minutes, while senior figures help guide standards on and off the court.
By prioritising development as well as results, Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club continue to invest in the future — ensuring local players have a clear pathway from grassroots to senior futsal and strengthening the club’s foundations for seasons ahead.
