Portsmouth & Southsea Return to Action at Portsmouth Futsal Cup

Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club made a positive return to competitive action as the Pompey Dons began their pre-season campaign at the Portsmouth Futsal Cup on Sunday 12th July.

The tournament provided valuable minutes for the squad, including debuts for JJ Alexander and Yaroslav, while supporters also welcomed the return of Josemar Gomes.

Portsmouth opened the day with an impressive 4-1 victory over Bristol Futsal 360 Purples, before following it up with another convincing 4-1 win against Procision Oxford. A competitive group stage concluded with a 3-1 defeat to Finta Futsal, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.

The third-place play-off against Bristol Futsal 360 Blues was unfortunately abandoned following a serious injury to goalkeeper Albie Mullings. Everyone at Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club wishes Albie a full and speedy recovery. Despite the incident at the end to the day, there were plenty of encouraging performances as the squad continues its preparations for the new season. Attention now turns to the Aztecs Cup on Sunday 9th August, where the Pompey Dons will look to build further momentum.
