Portsmouth & Southsea FC: Youth Pathway Shines as Future Stars Step Up
Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club’s youth pathway continues to make impressive strides, with several young talents now catching the eye across the programme. Over the past fortnight, three standout Youth players – goalkeeper Jayden Partridge, along with Justin Gudzelak and Guido Tossi – have earned call-ups to train with the Men’s squad, highlighting the club’s commitment to developing home-grown talent for senior competition.
The U16s have also showcased their progress in two back-to-back friendlies against the University of Portsmouth Development Teams. An emphatic 8–3 victory in the first match was followed by a narrow 6–5 win in the second. The fixtures also marked important steps for recently promoted U14 players Jan Marciniak, Frank Rees, and Leighton Hunt, who all featured and impressed at the higher level.
A major milestone was reached by 16-year-old goalkeeper Jayden Partridge, who received his first competitive senior call-up for the Men’s National Futsal League Tier 3 South Qualifier against Farnborough. Jayden played his part as PSFC secured a 4–3 win to progress into Tier 3.1 South – a proud moment for both player and club.
Across the age groups, the development remains strong. The U14s have enjoyed a busy month of fixtures against local sides, while the U10s, U11s, and U12s continue to grow in confidence through regular competition. A recent highlight saw these squads invited to face Pompey Academy in a special futsal showcase.
With PSFC now an England Futsal Youth Development Partner, the club is strengthening the bridge between youth and senior futsal, ensuring young players have every opportunity to progress. The future is bright, and the pathway is clear: developing players who can thrive at senior level while nurturing a lifelong connection to the sport.
