Portsmouth & Southsea edged out in 8–7 defeat to Farnborough

Portsmouth & Southsea Futsal Club fell to a narrow 8–7 defeat against Farnborough in the National Futsal League Tier 3.1 South division, following a high-tempo and physical contest.

The sides were level at 4–4 at halftime after an open first period, with both teams creating chances and playing direct. Portsmouth & Southsea stayed competitive throughout, however, it was not enough.

Geraint Melville led the scoring with a hat-trick, while Liam Brewer added two. Kelvin Lipa and Jeffrey Pinzon were also on the scoresheet in a game where Portsmouth & Southsea missed open chances to secure more goals.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with the game remaining close and chances at both ends. The decisive moment came late on, when a goal-line clearance from Farnborough denied Portsmouth & Southsea what looked to be a certain equaliser. The decision proved to be a key turning point as Farnborough held on to secure the win.

Despite the result, Portsmouth & Southsea remain 3rd in the league table and have a game in hand over Greenwich in 2nd, keeping them well placed going into the next round of fixtures.
